Deckee is endorsed by Transport for NSW and Marine and Safety Tasmania as a recommended app for boaters.
They needed a visual system within the app that would make it easy for boaters to quickly identify nearby vessels. The solution i came up with was a set of icons that were universally recognisable to boaters. The icons had to utilise the visual historical and cultural "memory" of the vessels with a future "fool-proof" practicality, while at the same time having just enough detail to work at a 16px by 16px size.
