A new weather experience for the fifth biggest weather service in the world

The National Broadcasting Corporation of Norway (NRK) has around 3 500 employees. Comprised of 8 divisions NRK is public owned and the parliament sets the frameworks for it's activities. NRK earns around 5 billion kroners in sales each year. I helped them to conceptualise, design and build a multi-channel weather experience, which is the fifth biggest in the world.

Data visualisation from TV to online.

We had to think about the weather experience as a whole. That is, how differing contexts, environments and user's needs affected how the multi-channel experience needed to be designed.

We focused on the entire experience from digital to TV, creating a more memorable experience enabling the user to better understand the weather and how it might affect them.

My role in the project.

As user experience designer i worked closely with Digital, TV and other departments to optimise the experience across all channels and services. Responsibilities included: Prototyping, UI design, UX design, Interaction design, data visualisation, user testing, design systems, user and data analysis and research, graphics for television.
